Hey guys, I remember back in the Quad Core days we can overclock AMD CPUS while enabling Cool n Quiet to automatically lower the frequency when the CPU is idle. That feature seems to be disabled/gone for the X6 1090T?

For example, I am able to easily raise the multiplier to 19X and achieve 3.8Ghz with everything else left in default but Cool n Quiet does not seem to work anymore...

Try setting the multi to 18.5 and CnQ should still work. Above 19 it doesn't AFAIK.

Yeah you start having issues on some boards between 17 to 19x multi on any phenom ii chip. OC your FSB and lower your multi to keep your oc.

Yes it is really lame set the Multi too high and lose the low power mode :(

I ended up just setting my Turbo multi super high and keep the put "normal" 6 core multi at 3.4. Turbo pushes it to 4Ghz. I also under volted mine to 1.2

The problem with Turbo mode is it only speeds 3 of the six cores?

You shouldn't need more than an 18x multiplier anyways. I only have a 12.5x multiplier and I'm fine up to 3.8ghz.

I recommend K10STAT if you're serious about reducing your idle power consumption.
