I have one lined up to buy for $40.

Just wondering if this is a good proc and what a good mobo would be for it, as I currently have an X6800 on a Gigabyte P35 board.

Thanks

Keep the 40$ and wait. Buy a Phenom II. I got a Phenom 9500 and i'm not loving the performance at all. Just my opinion.

You'll loose single threaded performance compared to your current X6800, and gain multi threaded performance. I really wouldn't consider it much of an upgrade unless your doing so specifically for something threaded.

Personally I'd save up the $50 extra needed for an Athlon II X4 as they perform better, consume less power, and overclock much better.
