AMD X2 Server CPU Question

At work our MySQL server is currently on a AMD 64 4000+. Would going to a X2 4600+ 512kb cache be a good idea? I have read that the cache size is not as important but i'm not sure about a smaller cache with MySQL?

Wow, well the X2 4800+ here has dropped to $368 CDN!!! Insane!!!

Yeah, I'm surprised you haven't heard about all of AMD's crazy price cuts already.

Yeah I have Was under the impression that no 1MB cache CPU's would see this big of a price drop though.
