I'm in the process of selling a x2 3800 939 on ebay.. some guy ask me this question... not sure how to answer it.. should I just say I have no idea and you probably need a firmware to get this done ? or say it would not work ?

Hi I have the AMD 3800, and I want to upgrade it to some thing better, this is also a labtop, the CPU is removable but would the board take the jucie to run from 1.13v to 1.34, and CPU-z says my chip is only .13u not the 90nm, so would everything work out fine, I still think it would. I am JUST starting to learn the computer langauge, and about why you just cant though any 939 socket into it. thanks, tom

Needs to check with whoever made the laptop, they should provide a listing of all processors supported by their BIOS.

He says his laptop uses a socket 939 CPU? Newer AMD laptops use a socket 754 or socket S1.
Tell him you'd rather he not bid on your processor. Or at least make him no guarantees what so ever.
It will end up being a headache FOR YOU if he buys it.

He doesn't know what he is talking about. Tell him his laptop won't support a S939 and that if he does buy it, you will not allow him to return it when he realizes this.

He spelled laptop wrong, that should have been your first clue. the CPU is removable but would the board take the jucie to run from 1.13v to 1.34. WTF JUCie?
