I've got an AM2 6000+ and a TT120 and the temps seem a tad higher than I expected but it's my first dual core so I might be expecting too much. idle's at about 35C and after 30 min of price95 it's at 50C, but seconds after I stop testing it's at about 35C again. Just wondering if I should expect more, ie new case with better air flow, it's VERY cramped since I got the TT120 :(. but $160+ for 2-3C isn't worth it imo... any thoughts?

It totaly depends on your ambient temperatures and on the case you currently have. How is the air flow in there? How many casefans? Do you mean 30 min of prime95 small fft's or blend? Even at blend the temps aren't halfbad.

the lowest temp speedfan is getting, which I believe is ambient is 26C and it's the small fft test. I guess I'm just used to my 3800 running at line ~35C with the stock cooler... I don't know what the case is, aside from VERY crowded atm, looking for something with a little more room, have any idea on something not too big that the TT would fit in?

For small fft's it's not bad I guess. My temps are higher, with a arctic cooler 64 pro, and I've only got a x2 3800+ at 2.5ghz, 1.35vcore.

Popular cases seem to be the Antec P182, or Lian Li's, and sonata II. Usually you can get a pretty good idea on the case if you read the reviews on them at newegg, don't take everything for granted though :p

My Opty 165 at 2.6GHz goes into the mid 50s C under dual orthos.
I bet 50C for a 6000+ under test stress loads is pretty darn good.
It has a rep as a hot running chip, much hotter than 50C

Are you running DUAL prime95? You need to run a prime95 for each core.

ok thats good to hear, and yes I'm running 2 instances of Prime95 and set affinity correctly.
