AMD X2 5600+ Heatsink Replacement

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro provides excellent cooling, and will give you some overclocking headroom should you decide later to go that route. It's also quiet and cheap (about $27 at newegg).

Uh...if you have space, run a Scythe Ninja passive.

Good lord dude...no need for that at all.

Well...that's what I run on my X2 4200+. A Scythe Ninja 2 is going on my E7200. Silence while keeping it cool enough is all that matters to me...my Scythe Ninja passive keeps up or sometimes beats my Freezer 64 Pro at cooling which is why I recommended it. Not sure if you're a silence freak or not though...

2nd the ac freezer. The fan supports pwm - which all new mb`s support. Not quite as good as the scythe or thermalright, but half the price. They were $20 last xmas at newegg with free shipping - stocked up with five of 'em.

I wonder how the new version compares - I've heard not as good...

I'm thinking the SCNJ-2000 should perform slightly better but then again it's a new product and probably has some quirks associated with it. I'll see what happens when I get it today.

How convenient. I would like to hear the results. I've always wanted to try a passive hsf (hs) but haven't yet. If the new one is at least as good, then I'll probably be get one.
