AMD X2 4600+ or INTEL Core 2 Duo E6300

ok so im building a new comp and i cant decide which one i want, i mostly play games and burn stuff at the same time, any thoughts on which cpu i should go with would be appreciated. btw im not looking for value for money just which one overall is better. thanx

Well...right now Intel is on top by far...so go for Intel C2D.

I'm not an Intel or AMD fanboy, I just want the best hardware I can get/afford.

At stock the x2 4600+ will be faster... the c2d will proly overclock better

That's correct. At stock speeds, the E6300 is roughly equivalent to an X2 4200 or 4400. The only slightly more expensive E6400 is a bit faster than the 4600, though, and is probably what you should shoot for, unless you'll be overclocking.
