jpeyton: Is that running at stock speed? If it is, what am I doing wrong? :D

And yes, I just downloaded the latest version.

Edit:
Never mind me, just noticed your overclock now, sorry. :D

You should really get a good heatsink and crank that 4800+ up a notch. Idle temps should be around 40C or less when overclocked.

so what are your views of 1.6v on a 4400+ (when OCed), as i will be looking to get one sooner or later and just wondered if i should stick to the same 1.55v max on air or not... ??

Your load temps at 1.6V would be around 70C on air. What kind of cooling?

Sandra screenies:

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2552-11232-sandra.JPG ***100% tested stable 3 days***

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2596-11236-sandra.JPG ***passed 12 hour stress testing***

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2629-11239-sandra.JPG ***limited testing...dont like vcore w/ heat...need an XP-90 and sub 50c***

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2662-11242-sandra.JPG ***limited testing...previously failed 32mb with not eact round but I was running 10x265 1:1 w/ cas 2.5-4-4-8***

speed testing at 2662mhz

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2662-11242-tmpgenccpu1.JPG

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2662-11242-tmpgenccpu2.JPG

2x faster then single cpu.....200% increase

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/cinebench2003-11242-2662.JPG

My best at 1.8ghz winchester at 2.66ghz was 376....87.2% increase...the other one was running 533ddr though and 7400's in sandra...maybe tweaking later will get that up more...

Limited stability testing at 2662mhz

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2662-11242-superpi32-tmpgenc-1.JPG

http://home.comcast.net/~duvie23/x2-2662-11242-superpi32-tmpgenc-2.JPG

As you can see 1.536v and 56c....more then I like so it wont stay there....run S&M and the temp gets to 60c within about 14 minutes....Will wait for the 90c but unlikely I will run anything more then 2.6ghz and under 1.5v....

You should remove your sig. Politics has no place in a hardware forum.

New benchmarks from me.

2321Mhz, stock air. idle 39-40C full load 48-50C

1.28V,211X11. (It did not run on stock 1.18V and I was getting a blue screen or wondows would reboot on boot...)

Memory:4881/4939(nice jump..)
Arithmetic : 19486, 7291/9478
Multimedia 43521/47620

Are my temperatures ok or 50 load is too high?

I get ~51C at 1.45 volts and 2650, so that seems kind of high, but could be your ambient temps.

Those RAM modules are CAS2, but only on P4 systems. For athlon systems they are rated at CAS2.5, the SPD on the chip sets it to 3-3-3-8, but they are actually rated at 2.5-3-3-6 for an athlon and you can just override the SPD settings.

I am ok with it being 50 at loads, as long as it doesn't do any bad. What's my ultimte question. How high is too high?
Are you saying you have a 4200 running at 2650 with stock HS/fan? at 51?

Basically I call bullsh^t on anyone who has a stock heatsink and gets only a 10c swing...Unless you have a XP-90C with a high end 60+ cfm fan there is no way you have only a 10c swing from idle to load....You are clearly nowhere near loading this thing....Yes sandra is not loading the cpus...I only hit 48c load at 1.5v but loading with s&m or prime large FFT will hit 58-60c.....

By the way, GamePC has a review of the X2. They include benches of every X2, so it's a nice way to see what the benefit of the extra cache is, etc. I normally dont like their reviews but it should be an ok way to compare the different X2s.

Here's a Link in case anyone cares.

You should remove your sig. Politics has no place in a hardware forum.

It's a sig, and it's not incredibly offensive. If something is that important to you, why not put it in your sig?

you know it takes 2 instances of prime, right???

You need to load both cores simultaneously....

Yes. Ambient temp is about 18C though, which I don't imagine would be normal for most people.
