I remember reading on the techreport a few weeks (maybe a month I'm not sure) that AMD was releasing 2 more budget oriented X2's. One of which is out (3800). The other (4000) is not. I've heard rumors of that it is supposed to be out in a few weeks after 3800, which would mean its release is fairly close. That is of course if that rumor is true.

Anyone have any info on the X2 4000+ so I can stop holding my breathe? (Getting kind of light headed) ;)

there is currently no plans from AMD to make a 4000+ but it may change in the near future.

Highly unlikely. The extra meg of cache adds production costs to AMD and they would have to price it inbetween the 4200+ and 3800+ (not a large range), so it would not make them as much money.

Awww Poo. I was hoping for more facts than fictions. I would really like this chip. I think a lot of other people would like this chip too.

This doesn't always mean much, but I have not seen any 4000+'s anywhere in the distribution channels, nor have I seen any plans to carry them.

But then, they were slow to list the 3800's.

Fiction, unless intel comes out with a very competitive chip at that range.. Then it will be fact..
