AMD X2 3800 AM2 chip OEM...$89.00 plus shipping...Ewiz.com

I didn't take it all the way though but I did go through several steps...

Try going to froogle (www.froogle.com) and typing AMD x2 3800 ewiz in the search box. Click on that link and then try to add/checkout.

Is it working now for you?

I just went all the way to the <Submit Order> page. No problems. I did not submit, however. Is that where you are stuck at or on a previous page?

If on a previous page, have you cleared your cookies or deleted your temporary internet files?

Hmm must be something on my side then, I can't get past the shopping cart. Will tinker around w/it more and see if I can get it working.

Yeah just tried it on another computer/ISP and it went through fine. Still not working on my system. Guess my ISP just doesn't play well with eWiz secure checkout??

Well according to the descrip and cross ref the pt# to amd's site, this appears to be lower power consumption model, 65watts vs 89watts in all 939s and earlier AM2s. Nice, considering electricity rates just went up 22% here in Chitown. Would be a nicer if it was the ultra low voltage 35 watter, but still good.

Yes.

Dang, the price is tempting... must resist... but want to see how much I can overclock one...

I thought S939 HSFs were incompatible with AM2?

Is $90 (plus shipping/tax) not too expensive for you? If not, then the Abit NF-M2 Nview is the best choice.

If it uses the "stock" mounts, then it works fine. Retail box HSFs use stock mounts.

Word up Zap, this is exactly why I needed this CPU... for an NF-M2

Let me know how that CPU overclocks. I got a Sempron 2800+ (128k cache, 1.6GHz, 8x multiplier) on the board now and can get it to around 2.9GHz with some crazy voltages. That's around 360MHz+ for the HTT.

I made my first order using eWiz last week, must say I'm impressed. My item was OOS, they put my order on "hold", sent me 2 emails and left me a voice mail. Great customer service.

Ahh... can't help you there. I never OC my chips.
