Does anyone know why MSI, Gigabyte, and EPoX have decided to use passive coolers on their Intel nF4 boards and not their AMD nF4 boards? I mean, from reading that massive thread on the Zalman NB47J heatsink, I think it's obvious that the AMD version can be passively cooled without problems. The heatsinks on some of these Intel nF4 boards are pretty hefty, which leads me to believe that they run just as hot as the AMD version. So what gives? Is this some sort of special consideration for Intel users? Surely they know that users find those high rpm chipset fans annoying? I know you can just buy the NB47J and avoid noise altogether, but the few chipset heatsinks I've replaced have been quite a pain in the ass. I guess AMD users will just have to put up with it?
