AMD VISION Engine Control Center crashes my computer

new Win7 install on AMD 960T (quad core). mobo= gigabyte 78Lmt-s2p.
new radeon 4850.

got the newest drivers from amd yesterday.
installed fine.

but when i click on AMD VISION Engine Control Center, the computer freezes. hitting the power button does nothing.
i had to unplug it.

what's wrong and how do i fix it?

You may have meant this, but what about holding the power button for more than five seconds?

Can you play a game on it in its current state?
