So, there is the laptop for sale on craigslist that i was interested in. the girl selling it doesnt know much about them, so she didnt post the specs , but just the model number.
here is some info i dug up. its a discontinued model, and here are the variety that are out there:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ie/en/ho...187-179483-179483-179483-12319204.html

So i called and told her to go to My Computer properties and read me the specs. She said:

AMD Turion 64 Mobile...
737 Mhz, 384Mb of RAM.

This doesnt make any sense. I have always had pentium, and thats an easy way for beginners to look specs. But its a new 5 month old laptop with turion 64 and that low specs?
ALso, none of the models listed on the compaq site show that spec.

Does AMD work differently in reporting its stuff under My Computer?

the RAM looks ok, but i was expecting the new models to be 512 or 1gb. 384 is justt ODD.

The integrated video card is using 128 MB of the 512MB system ram for itself, leaving 384 MB.
The cpu has the ability to lower it's speed at idle, thus the low mhz figure.
