Ok, in my laptop i have a Turion 64 X2, so in a way i have 2 cpu's dont i? if not, what is the differece between this one and a regular? what am i gaining?

By having two cores over one core, it means you can have a couple of demanding tasks running at the same time pretty fast, with no slowdown - basically, it works better over a single core with the more apps open at the same time. If you don't ever have that many apps running at the same time, you wouldn't notice any difference.
