amd turion 64 ml-28 vs core duo t2050

Planning to get a laptop. Once has a turion and other has core duo. In terms of performance, how do those two compare? Not exactly sure where to look. Thanks.

Rough idea:

If doing exactly 1 thing, the core is about as fast as a turion at the same clock speed.

If doing 2+ things at once then the core is twice as fast.

Some applications written to use 2 cores go faster even by themselves but most do not.

If you need any 3D power, also compare video, since it usually isn't upgradable. nvidia 6100/6150 integrated isn't great, but it's still much better than intel craphics.

I'm comparing these two computers: http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4984101?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG [Compaq v5306us Notebook (Turion 64 ML-28, 512mb RAM, 80gb HD, 15.4" LCD, Combo Drive) ] and this one at compusa: Toshiba Satellite M115-S3094 Notebook

Intel Core Duo Processor T2050, 1.6GHz, with Centrino Technology, 512MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, 14.1-inch WXGA TFT Display, 8X DVD+/-RW Drive, Windows XP Media Center 2005. The one at frys is $500 now, the one at compusa is supposed to be $500 this sunday. I kinda like the 15.4" screen more.

go with the 14.1 inch . more portable.

you will probably need to upgrade the memory but do it in like a few months. memory prices are crazy atm.
