For this i'm assuming nobody wants to use monitor speakers for taking advantage of TrueAudio.

When using your GPU for sending audio i'm not aware of a work around to using anything other than the native HDMI or DP output for audio needs. For instance when using the GPU to do sound this couldn't be done on the GPU and then sent over mobo sound or add in sound card to speakers.

If that is correct, then won't TrueAudio basically be limited to HDMI to HomeTheatre reciever and won't this in a way limit TrueAudio to 1080P users? If sending video/audio over DP then how to get the sound from the monitor out to independent speakers?

I'm only seeing a solution of HDMI to a capable reciever that can then spit out the TrueAudio benefits to decent speakers, and most recievers will only do 1080P.

If gaming at 1440P or 1600P what would the setup be to get true audio onto discreet speakers? I'm interested because i'm considering going 1440p on a second setup.

After TrueAudio processing, it all goes down the regular path via sound card (or integrated solution) to speakers/headphones

Ok, so TrueAudio could be used independently of sound card choice. Clears that up.

The option makes much more sense once seeing it in the new Theif game. It's just a toggle to enable TrueAudio in sound options.

True Audio makes sound more realistic in games. It's not a format for making surround sound or something.
