I'm wondering if there has been any news of Bulldozer taping out? If we're to expect an early 2011 release (for the desktop version) then the tapeout needs to happen around about now.

We have not made any public statements about tapeout yet.

Qualifies as genuine vaporware.

How is it vaporware? Vaporware is something that has been launched but not available. Bulldozer is promised for 2011. Because you cannot buy it today does not make it any less real.

You should rather keep a watch on AMD's future Fusion processors, APUs, and the general concert around them, rather than its next x86 designs...They got an ace in their sleeves, ready to be put in the table when things mature.

Fusion is going to start off like any other ISA extension, virtually no programs take advantage of the latest and greatest ISA extensions (SSE4.whatever) when first released...and in some cases you can be waiting a couple years before applications you might be interested in using finally start coming out with binaries that take advantage of the new ISA.

Fusion when released will technically be a cool idea and some geeky hardware, but software will lag (always does) so Bulldozer might be out and around speeding things up before fusion makes its performance advantage felt.

But it's something you've done in the past right?

What is the "it" you are referring to? A public statement? Taping out?

We do make public statements around tapeout, but those are not standalone; typically they are in conjuction with an analyst event or a quarterly earnings statement.
