Assembling 2 new puters for me and the wife. At newegg.com I see the 1.4 Ghz with standard HSF. Is this good enough or do I need better cooling. One of my towers is a Enlight midtower 7237 and the other is a no name standard midtower.

Thanks in advance.

why would AMD package a HSF that won't cut it?

It doesn't really cut it if you don't like 50C Idle.

If you plan on running the processors at the specification they are being sold at, no problem.

EDIT:

You can get by on one case fan, but a minimum of 2 is suggested. Power supply fan doesn't count as a case fan.

Check out the recommended cooling solutions, here, regarding case cooling:

AMD

And yeh, the HSF units furnished with retail processors will definitely do the job at stock mhz, thermal pad and all. Some of the cheapo aftermarket units sold with OEM chips may not work so well....
