Hey there!

I have a Amd Thunderbird running at 1Ghz (unlocked now) it has a AXHA code. It will do 1333Mhz with a Fop38 and run 100% stable at 1.75 volts. I thought I would go ahead and try for 1.4Ghz even thought I read that most of the cpus with the AXHA code do a max of 1.33Ghz if your lucky. It booted up at 1.4Ghz but Win2000 crashed trying to start up, I thought I would give it more volts.....For some reason the Asus AV7133 has problems with voltage and didnt even start up at 1.80 volts but it would at 1.75..sound wired? Then I had an idea, would it run at 1.4ghz if I could lower the cpu temp? Since it was about 50 degress outside, I thought why not put my case next to the window? My cpu temp dropped to 68 degress and windows2000 started right up at 1.4ghz. I was able to run 3Dmark2001 and everything, I thinking this is awesome! Then I closed my window to see what would happen. When the cpu temp got to 109 degress my computer crashed....sigh....

Now the question is this: Would a peltier cool my cpu temp down to at least 70-75 degress and if so, what voltage peltier?

Ideas/comments?

a peltier will get you down to that temperature, but might also need another power supply. some take up about 75 watts. another thing to think about is that if you get it too cold, water might form and thats a no no.
