😕

Today = April 1
Tech Tour = May 1

April 1 != May 1

You're right....(atleast halfway)....

Red Sox opening day (home opener is April 11) is not the 1st, but May 1st is the first Red Sox Yankees game at Fenway......

Red Sox still win🙂

How do i attend one of these? They arent coming to my area, but luckilly i am going to be in DC on May 11th, and am willing to stop by it for a few hours. Where is the official information and signup?

I've gone to MS advertisements before, seminars for an entire day, gotten paid for it, and received full licensed versions of VS2005 pro, SQL Server 2005 enterprise, and even won a door prize for a software package including the Vista if it ever comes out. Not bad for one day of MS advertisement. Heck, just go, sit there and listen, do your own thing if you want, and leave with free software, hardware, etc.

I've done the same thing. However me thinks that the bundle pricing is too high.

You have to register and order the bundle in advance, or you risk not getting a bundle.

The 4000+ is overpriced. Anybody can OC a 3000+ to those speeds and pay less. Ebay value is going to be a lot less and, for all we know, just like last year, AMD oculd announce a price cut right after the tour is over.

Last year it was 2 Opterons + Tyan MB + Server 2003 for $500. That smokes this deal like a Nicaraguan cigar.

The opteron 165 is a dual core that's clocked higher than last year's models. A copy of Windows Server 2003 alone is more than worth the purchase price. An Opteron 165 and that mobo will run up a price of about 400 easy.

SBS costs several hundred less than standard Server 2003. And you can frequently get it free on Dell servers costing fractionally more than this bundle.

Wow the bundles this year blow

Thats a single opteron 165 and a single cpu slot.

opteron 165 $325
Tyan mobo $205

$650 - $530 = paying $120 for another windows license.

the boards last year were dual cpu slots and supported dualcore through bios update.
