I am having the abovementioned processor. It is currently running at 40 - 42 deg celcius. Is it normal? My comp is located in a normal room temperature. I am having a standard hsf that comes with it. If it's not normal, could anyone suggest me of what I can do about it. Thanks a mil.

That's on the warm side, but it's still decent for the stock heatsink.
Is your case closed?
Do you have any sort of case fans?

I talked to a Computer Technician and he said that the t-bird 1ghz could run upto 100 degrees celcius. I think that its a little high but he probably knows more than I do since I was calling him

That refers to the actual core temp.
However, you will start getting unstable when the thermal probe hits about 55c or so.
Safest is under 45c IMO.

Hmm... His runs 42C full load. That's better than mine running 48C full load. Although I'm running my 1.0GHz @ 1.224GHz, 48C seems a bit warm.

Well, I have my side casing taken off. And sometimes, my cpucooler reads 45-49 deg celcius if I am running games like halflife or mechwarrior. And when it idles, it goes back to 41-43 deg celcius. Anyways, is this kinda normal guys?

But what can explain the hanging of my systems. Sometimes, it hangs totally, the mouse everything. Even ctrl-alt-del doesn't werk. Thanks a mil for any help.
