I am building a computer and was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with or has heard of the 800 mhz T-bird chip overheating and frying the motherboard or power supply. I know it is not a slot chip and AMD has had problems with overheating before. Thanks
Im running a 800 T-Bird @1060 and its fine, just use a decent heatsink and put it on correctly and youll be ok. In the case you put the heatsink on wrong and fried the CPU, the MB in most cases would still be perfectly fine.
My Dad runs a AMD T-Bird 1Ghz he is overclocked to 1236 he uses a Hedgehog with the 38CFm Delta fan it is loud but he runs a stable temp of 41 degrees celsius for the thermal compund he uses Artic silver hope that helps you out a little bit
