AMD sues the mobileverse [TPU]

The big difference here is Nvidia lost it's case and had some of it's patents invalidated whereas the court has yet to make a ruling for AMD ...

sounds almost exactly the same as this article here on anandtech from over a month ago when the news was first announced.

Did realize this wasn't new. I don't regularly visit anandtech front page. Closing thread...

Edit: not seeing a way to close thread from my phone. Mods feel free to close.

Nvidia were going against a 100 Ton gorilla, in Samsung, vs the little lemmings that AMD has chosen. It may or may not be any more frivolous than the other case, depending on the outcome of this one.

AMD is indirectly going after ARM themselves, who I wouldn't characterise as a "little lemming".

AMD's lawsuit is exactly the polar opposite of nvidia's IMHO. Nvidia went after Samsung and Qualcomm, but not the others. AMD has a strategic relationship with Samsung, and Qualcomm bought AMD's former ARM division and acquired the patents they needed.

This looks like the countersuit fallout of nvidia's failed attempt. Interesting to see where this goes.
