AMD Strangeness (In my opinion)

XP 1900+ @ 133.33 FSB x 12.0, 1.75Vcore, 2.65 DDR = fine
140 x 12.0, 1.75 Vcore, 2.65 DDR = Fine (for over 12 hours @ 100% CPU)
145 x 12.0, 1.75, 1.775, 1.8. 1.85 Vcore, 2.65, 2.85 DDR = Fine for 15 mins tops. (@ 100% CPU use)
150 x 12.0, 1.775 Vcore, 2.75 DDR = No boot and have to reset BIOS because it won't access it

Any thoughts?

My results with a xp 1700 was pretty close to yours, but when i upgraded from to a copper heatsink and a better psu it was able to boot.
What heatsink and psu are you using?

Get a copper cooler and aim for sub 45 C temps, then you MAY get more, depends on your cpu, Mem, Mobo and PSU after that, almost in that order.

Then tweak the nuts outa your bios. More perfomance will come from a bios workout than an extra 50Mhz at this point. EG, If your mem likes it, run it at CAS2, instead of 2.5.

Apologies if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs... 😉

edit: 45c not 40c, oops.

Yep...you may wish to look at another ps...You may be jacking the vcore juice but if it ain't delivering it is all for not...

IMO it is something else then the cpu...It should have done 5 more mhz since you yet to raise the vcore above stock...IN p4's I have been able to get 180-200mhz more after I have to start to raise vcore...It has been very consistent...A .1v boost should have bought you stability od 60 more mhz...
