AMD stops shipping Phenom II!

It's sad that the Phenom and Athlon II lines are being discontinued but even if BD's performance is lackluster, I'm happy to see it sell out. We need AMD to survive; no ifs ands or buts.

yeah I totally agree...as long as it is not me buying a Bulldozer, its fine.

I fell for Win ME and I have tried to make better decision by not adopting stuff so early as a consumer.

Wow, never thought I would see the day. Should investigate getting some of those 960T chips, perhaps I'll luck out and get one that will unlock to a six-core.

Damn.
If you have a microcenter near you, there are some great deals on Phenom II's.

Already have one bundle from them. Might have to have my parents place an order for me to use their address and cc# to get the order placed, then pay cash at pickup. $150 after tax for the x6 with a functional gigabyte board is starting to look more and more like a deal.

Oh, and here is another good phenom II deal:

$59.99 for a PII X4 @ 3.2ghz.

Yup, picked up the Phenom II X4 840 from Microcenter on Saturday. I've been meaning to make a new build for a while since my last PC was taken out by a brownout 🙁 Great deal at $60 for a quad core. Now I can finally run some DC applications again.

I'm glad I picked up my 1090t + free mobo from MC also. The X6 is a bit power hungry but otherwise a great chip for DC and video encoding. Hopefully I can find an excuse to buy another one before they're gone, though I doubt it...oh well. 😀

Seeing all these MC deals kind of makes me glad I don't have one around, I already spend way too much on geeky computer crap. If only it wasn't so much fun!

Was just looking at MC again, and the 1055T price has dropped to $119.99.
If you click on the bundle at $139, the $119.99 price shows up in the cart.

As soon as it turns a reasonable hour, I need to either call my brother or parents and have them place an order for me since I already purchased a bundle a month ago. Oh, and I somehow can't let the wife know. That is going to be the tricky part.

I've been able to buy multiple "one per customer items" - I just don't do it very often and I do it days/weeks apart. Mostly on behalf of family who live to far away to get in on the deals there 🙂

And you should be calling your parents AND your brother. 😀
