I have a really interesting question that just came up. Please, only AMD stock holders, or those knowledgable in this area answer.
If you hold AMD stock, do you get benefits, ie: CPU discounts?
I'm asking because an architect friend needs to finish building 2 pc's by the end of the year. AutoCAD 64bit version will be out sometime next year, but it'll probably months after (I've heard late '04) that Windows XP-64 will come out. At first, I told him to go for a P4 route, its much better for AutoCAD at the moment, until 64bit software/OS gets more mature, and then upgrade next year to a nice dual Opteron system. However, if he buys a machine now, he won't be able to update next year. So, I realized he owns AMD stock, as was wondering, since he's been a stock holder for a bit now, he might be able to get discounts? Is this true, or am I just grasping for straws.
