Oh well. there goes my plan of buying the ABIT board and overclocking the 650 to 950.

I think i'll stick with my 566 @ 850 now since a duron 650 won't go faster without new ram etc.

According to the Anandtech review of the FIC mobo today, there will be a way to change the multiplier on the Duron chips.

Mind posting a link to where you read that, rigor? I thought we already covered this and determined that Durons will not be multiplier locked, as every Socket-A MB is touting the ability to have at it with multipliers.

Fortunately there will be a grey market of hax0red durons considering the recent scraping/drawing on the socket-a cpu itself, Sounds a little scary to do myself, cutting a trace on the chip itself, but im sure some people here (COMPUWIZ1)?? will care to hack the chips up and sell them to us at a guaranteed speed.

I begin to wonder the cost of the duron now that its more difficult.

You don't need a high power laser. A small laser with 1W output power is more than enough.

Are we going to have to do this crazy trace adjustment to OC these things or what?

If this is true why are all these motherboard manufactures making boards with multiplier adjustments.
Its not like its just one rogue company slapping dipswitches on their. It looked like the were going to be many makers with this adjustment.
