New Feature Highlights

  • AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+ - Takes responsive gaming to the next level by introducing per-game profiling to intelligently pace frames further reducing input lag on RDNA 3 based Radeon GPUs. For more information about game support click HERE.
  • AMD Radeon™ Boost– Now supports AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+ and improves image quality through awareness of mouse sensitivity, reducing the image quality impact of dynamic resolution switching during motion—typically seen with high-DPI mice.
    • AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.9.1 introduces AMD Radeon™ Boost support for Resident Evil™ 4 Remake and Ghostwire™: Tokyo, which delivers extra performance and increased responsiveness with little perceived impact to quality.
  • AMD HYPR-RX – Introducing a new driver experience that allows users to optimize their games using AMD Software features for their RDNA 3 based Radeon GPUs, achieving increased performance and lower latency with ease.
  • AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.9.1 introduces the ability to intelligently combine AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+, Boost, and Radeon Super Resolution to achieve improved performance and latency reduction than these features can achieve on their own.
  • For more information: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/software.

What’s Next?

  • AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+ - Initially supporting 12 games, new game support for AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+ will be released through AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition updates in the coming months.

No mention of FSR3 in the notes so guess that is coming later this fall.

Seems like the release notes are kinda sparse, not much detail. Did they fully fix the idle power usage issue for 7900 cards, or is that an ongoing thing? They don't mention anything about if it is fixed or still WIP. I guess we will have to see.

You will have to test it but I think that is still a work in progress I just got home from work so installing the driver now.

Well I installed it, but so far I have just ran ETQW. No app crashes yet though, so that is good.

Well I ran a few other games, PoE, COD MWII, and Ultimate Doom from within Doom 3 BFG edition, and no issues with any crashes so far. I haven't even had to underclock or anything, so it may be these drivers are more stable than before. I checked the idle power usage, and it is still high, about 50-60W.

I found an issue with this driver.

After a certain period of time the menu's are unresponsive. Its not a huge deal for me as I go in there only once in a while but maybe bigger problem for some if you are in there alot.

I submitted a bug report to amd about this with my video above linked in it.

Are you sure? I thought there were some improvements for other cards in general...or are all the new driver functions exclusive for RDNA3? For instance, in the Radeon Boost part, it doesn't say exclusively for RDNA3.
