Highlights

  • Support for
    • Immortals of Aveum™

Fixed Issues

  • Improvements to high idle power when using select multi-display setups with mixed high-resolution and high refresh rate displays on Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs with variable refresh rate enabled. Further optimizations are being investigated to improve idle power on additional display configurations.
  • Performance drop may be experienced for DirectX® 11 games on AMD Radeon™ RX 5600 XT when AMD SmartAccess Memory is Enabled.
  • Application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Ratchet & Clank™: Rift Apart with Ray-Tracing and Dynamic Resolution Scaling enabled on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX.
  • Application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Starcraft II™ on Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs.
  • Intermittent corruption may be observed playing Rocket League™ with Bloom set to Off on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon™ RX 6900 XT.
  • Performance drop may be experienced for various games on AMD Ryzen™ processors with Radeon™ 700M series GPUS.

Known Issues

  • Performance Metrics Overlay may report N/A for FPS on various games.
  • Audio may intermittently become out of sync with video when recording from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition with AV1 codec.
  • Display may not reach correct brightness with certain games on some SAMSUNG™ FreeSync Premium Pro displays and TVs when local dimming is enabled.
  • Application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Baldur's Gate 3 with DirectX® 11 API set on certain systems with Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs.

Important Notes

  • Factory Reset has been temporarily disabled as a precautionary measure while we address isolated installation issues that have been reported during PC upgrades. Users may use AMD Cleanup Utility as a temporary option.

Package Contents

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.8.1 Driver Version 23.10.29.01 for Windows® 10 and Windows® 11 (Windows Driver Store Version 31.0.21029.1006).

Yeah I just noticed that these are available. I'll try them, hopefully idle power usage is improved with my display.

I've seen some people report on Reddit for dual monitor configs it made a difference so let's hope your config also see's a change.

I know it still varies based on some specific monitor combos.

Still not fixed for me, still reading around 50W idle. I only use a single monitor, but it is 2560x1440@270Hz. I guess this is still a WIP. Oh well, Hertz to see it :|

I guess it looks like the 240+ hz refresh rate is still an issue. yes WIP.

Installed these onto the systems I built for my nephews and the RX 6800's installed saw an increase in idle power from 34W to 57W. Still, not my problem come this weekend when I deliver them.

Is that a dual monitor setup or single?

As far as I know, all of the driver's notes have specifically been talking about power consumption on RDNA 3 not 2.

When I was on a 6800XT I never had issues with high idle power draw.

Dual Monitor (4K60 + 1440p144). My eldest nephew is starting an Engineering Degree next month, hence the Dual Monitors, I have offered him a swap for a 4080 if his course needs CUDA. My younger nephew is still at school so only a single 1440p144 display for him.

I'm not sure if you have a dual monitor setup or a single one, but either way, you can use the AMD Radeon Software to adjust your power settings and monitor your power consumption. You can also use the AMD Link app to remotely control your PC from your mobile device.
The RDNA 3 architecture is AMD's latest and most advanced GPU design, featuring chiplet technology, AI accelerators, and second-generation raytracing. It is designed to deliver superior performance, efficiency, and visuals for gaming and content creation. The Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards are based on the RDNA 3 architecture and offer up to 96 compute units, 24 GB of VRAM, and 61.4 TFLOPS of FP32 performance. The RDNA 3 architecture also improves the performance per watt by up to 50% compared to the previous generation RDNA.

The RDNA 2 architecture is still a very capable and powerful GPU design, featuring enhanced compute units, raytracing accelerators, and AMD Infinity Cache. The Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards are based on the RDNA 2 architecture and offer up to 80 compute units, 16 GB of VRAM, and 23.0 TFLOPS of FP32 performance. The RDNA 2 architecture also supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, FidelityFX Super Resolution, Smart Access Memory, and Radeon Boost.
lol thanks for that recap boss :D
