Last Christmas I installed two 1 GB DDR333 Kingston memory modules on an Asus A7V400 AMD Socket A motherboard which has a stated chipset of VIA KM400A and running a Sempron 3800+ if memory serves me correctly CPU. Supposedly this is a valid memory/mb combination. Since then often times upon bootup the computer does not boot, does not show any post info but then when pressing the reset button will boot fine. I am going to visit this computer this weekend (dad's long distance) and wondered if there was an bios settings or anything else I could do to alleviate this problem. Have you heard of something like this before? Memory speed is not an issue here, only stability. I've never tinkered with a BIOS memory settings before and right now, everything is set for auto. He says he can live with this but I'd like to get to the root of the problem. Before the computer had a single stick of 512mB memory which was removed when putting in the two new 1 GB sticks.
