Would a 700mhz Slot A Thunderbird work on the Asus K7M. My classic 600 just died :( so I need to get a new processor. Since the K7M is the based on the 751 Iron Gate chipset the Thunderbird schould work right. I need a quick answer please because for now I am stuck on my mothers computer :disgust:

Thanks

The Tbird/K7M combo is a marriage made in heaven. Suggest you flash to the latest Bios Version 1009 here: Asus. The latest version will optimize the L2 cache for the bird and identify it on the Post as Genuine Thunderbird instead of unknown. It'll work super either way.

Cool, already flashed to that Bios version before this proc broke. Glad to hear it is a good combo.

I have a Tbird 900@1100 in a late REV. K7M. If you have the chipset revision that will work with Super Bypass enabled, AGP 2X will also work flawlessly although you may have to force it with Pstrip. This is a sweet combination.
