With their decoupled GHZ vs performance, it's hard to tell what is what. I wasn't aware that ANY Athlon XP had only 128k cache, but that's what HP is offering in notebook and calling it a 2800+. The 3000+ has 256k, but where are Bartons?

Is there ever a case where a major brand like HP would call a Duron by the name of Athlon XP-M? Check it out yourself: R3000Z Click Help Me Decide in processor box to see descriptions.

It is not a Duron.

Teh Athlon XP-M 2800+ in the 3000 laptop is a Athlon64 chip with only 128kb L2 and no 64bit running at 1.6Ghz. The 3000+ XP-M is the same as the 2800+ but with 256kb of L2

HP lists 3 A64 chip options and 2 AXPs. I've never heard of an A64 having it's cache cut to 128k or 256k and being called an XP.

eplebnista - awesome chart. Any chance of a version with mobile chips?

OK. And?

Every one of those it either 256k or 512k (3 or 4 respectively in second to last digit) and still doesn't explain what's available from OEM vendor.

So is there, or was there, ever an Athlon XP 2800+ with 128K or 3000+ with 256K?

Running Mobile??? (looking @ your original post/?)
Not that I know but I'm still confused by your ? o as Bartons run @ L1/64K+64K; L2/ 512KB
which would be 128K L1 and 512
