AMD sells more processors for desktop retail market than Intel
For the first time, AMD has sold more processors for the desktop retail market than Intel. The rise of multi-media machines have helped, and the success of HP's Pavilion a1130n Media Center PC was a factor; but for the first time ever, AMD shipped 52% of all desktop processors in systems sold at the retail level.
At least for the month of September, as difficult as it may be to believe, Intel was the underdog.
