That's odd, it worked like a charm for me. Keep trying.

by the way....isn't 64-bit sempron goes head to head if not better than Barton CPU?

Yeah, it tops it. The Sempron 64-bit cpus are a really good bang for your buck cpu and overclock beautifully.

My DFI LanParty NF3 250Gb is just sitting here waiting for nice little Sempron 64. :p

Different chip architecture. Anything Socket 754/939 will smoke Socket A.

Microcenter is a great company to do business with, one of the few places I would send a friend without 10 minutes of warnings.

This processor is easily the best bang for the buck around. Can overclock incredibly but even at stock, for $70.00, it is a bargain.

Are you sure you are on the Microcenter site and not victims of phishing?
Two different people having problems with their checkout is suspicious.

I followed the OP's link and followed through the checkout procedure but didn't work after submitting my CC information. One thing I noticed is that there was no option to select credit card type.

From all I could tell, it looked like microcenter's website... perhaps it's just a temporary problem?

Mine went through ok.

I went to their Home page and searched and found the same deal, so I don't think this is a phish.

Thanks OP!!

Just go to your local store if they don't have it, they will back order it for you.

semi-related: if you have a Fry's B&M nearby, check the components section. I saw retail boxed Athlon 64 2800+ CPUs for $98. It's $99.90 online: http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4018732

That's $38-$39 extra for 512KB L2 vs 256KB L2 (both run at 1.8GHz), a heatsink and a 3 year warranty. I don't know if it's worth it for most people.

At $104 Newegg has the retail version, with heatsink and 3 year warranty. This is still a smokin deal for a 64 bit oem chip (no fan/heatsink, shorter warranty).
