AMD Sempron 2500+ showing up as 2200+ on boot?

Bought a new motherboard (SY-KT600 DRAGON PLUS 2.0) and a Sempron 2500+. Hooked up a video card, RAM, and the the CPU/Heatsink Fan.

When it powers up, the initial screen says "AMD Sempron 2200+".

Is this something that will correct itself as I configure the system? I set the FSB speed on the motherboard to 333 MHz, but the documentation that came with the board was a little confusing. I think it had 3 dif't settings, but I can't remember what they were (I remember looking up the docs on the Sempron 2500+ and seeing "333 MHz" and picking the corresponding value on the chart...)

Help please? Thanks.

If you're already running at 333FSB, then see if there's a BIOS update that will identify the CPU correctly. If you are already running with the latest BIOS that supports the Sempron, then take the CPU out and VERIFY the markings to make sure you do indeed have a 2200+. It's possible you could have been given the incorrect CPU.

Not that it applies to your situtation exactly, but with my mobo, I had to re-flash my BIOS when I put my new cpu in even though they were already flashed to the newest and greatest. Apparently some of the boards cannot auto-detect the cpu and the re-flash is how to get it to detect the proper cpu. Good luck.
