And how can I tell?

I've been scouring the web for the past few days trying to find a straight answer to this question and have come up with nothing but confusion.

As of now my system is configured in the following way:

- Kingston SSD Now 64GB (note, this is NOT the + model) - this has the OS on it
- 2x Samsung F3 1TB's in RAID 0 - these have all my programs, etc. on them

I installed the OS in this way:
- Set BIOS to RAID
- Setup RAID array
- Run W7 install disk
- Install RAID drivers from AMD
- Install W7 on SSD
- Activate and format RAID array in OS

I just want to be sure that TRIM is working. I ran the fsutil command and it came back "0" meaning that the OS is sending the Trim signal. The real confusion comes from the following question: Does the AMD Southbridge driver pass the command along? It seems that the answer used to be "no", but I can't find anything to the contrary.

Is there some way to be sure that my SSD is getting the benefit of Trim?

I really appreciate any insight/help.

I think the very act of running in RAID mode disables TRIM even if the device is not RAIDed.

Intel finally got their drivers to pass TRIM to non-RAIDed drive: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2010/03/23/intel-releases-trim-for-raid/1

AMD hasn't made such a thing so they have solutions like what my current motherboard has, an Asrock 870 Extreme 3:
SATA IDE Combined Mode
This item is for SATA3_5 and eSATA ports only. Use this item to enable or
disable SATA IDE combined mode. The default value is [Enabled].
If you want to build RAID on SATA3_5 and eSATA ports, please
disable this item.

Is there anything I need to worry about is my SSD isn't getting the TRIM command?

The AMD AHCI 1.2.1.275 drivers dated 11/11/2010 and newer versions have supported TRIM.

You'll hafta decide if it's the best driver for your needs. Check this thread for a little info.

Good Luck!
