Nvidia is outselling AMD 10-1 in GPU, that is in a crypto currency bubble that means every single GPU is snapped up off of the production line..a scenario that is a perfect storm for AMD which is regarded as having the best GPUs for mining.

So in this ideal scenario, Nvidia somehow seems to be able to outsell AMD 10-1...AMD is competitive gaming wise right down from gtx 1070ti..and it excells in mining, meaning any brand value issues are non existent..hell even gaming performance is practically a non issue.
Both manufacturers are held back by the same memory bottleneck/shortages/pricing.
Both gpu are on mature processes from large foundries.
So what the hell is going on with AMD??...how can Nvidia possibly be outselling AMD by such a massive margin in any climate, let alone in this one?

AMD must surely not be ordering enough chips? (An age old problem with AMD)..either they don't want to take the risk with large orders in case of mining bubble burst..or Nvidia has somehow bought up all the memory stock..how??.

I don't get it, AMD GPU division should be raking it in but they are not.

AMD only has six card types :RX 550,560,570,580, Vega 56, and Vega 64. The 550 through 580 use GDDR5 which is in short-ish supply, the 56 and 64 use HBM2, which is in REALLY SHORT supply. They have fewer AIB partners than Nvidia, and those literally can't make boards fast enough!

This does not make sense, Nvidia used gddr5 (X) also, but they have more stock to sell?..does not pass the smell test, hbm sure ok (why did they take that design choice if they knew supply would be short and expensive?)
Nvidia is panning AMD gddr5 GPUs...this has nothing to do with performance differences or brand value issues...in this climate AMD cards are at worse - equally desirable as Nvidia..every cards gets snatched off of the production line..well above MSRP.
Simply put, AMD/Nvidia can print these things off as fast as possible and every card will sell in days.
AMD is either being way too cautious here...or Nvidia has massive priority on gddr5...perhaps they agreed to pay premium for first dibs...
Basically although this shields amd from brand value deficit..meaning AMD can sell every card they planned on making...for some reason they can't up production and make a killing..unlike Nvidia who are producing as many as they can and are making obscene profits.
Something is not right, why can't AMD just produce the same number of GPUs as Nvidia..and make the same profit?
A lot of Nvidia cards can mine now too.
true, but it doesn't matter, every card sells out well above msrp...they is no logical reason why we have this absurd sales discrepancy.

A lot of Nvidia cards mine better than AMD cards, and with less power.

The whole GPU is screwed right now. From $1050 1080ti to $999 RX Vega 56 cards to $1199 RX Vega 64 cards, it's all insane. AMD doesn't have the production capability Nvidia has, so that's likely why it is so lopsided right now.

The last bubble was supposed to be perfect storm for AMD as well, but it wasn't in the end. Maybe they and their partners learned a thing or two and are taking it more cautiously now.
In addition as I understand AMD will prioritize CPU first (although I have no idea if GF is capacity limited or not at the momemnt).

Is there anyone else besides Samsung supplying HBM? I thought Hynix was scheduled to start at some point... or was that just a rumor?
