This is the first significant discount (aside from combos, which are also a great deal), that I've seen on this CPU, standalone.

I don't know if sales are slowing at the low-end, or if this is just to promote a better mix of sales? I know that the 3700X and 3900X especially are in high demand, but I don't think that I've noticed that the 3600 has ever been scarce, save perhaps for the first 2-3 days of release.

Anyways, I bought this CPU the first night it was available, and OH IS IT WORTH IT. Noticeably speedier than my Ryzen R5 1600 CPUs were, even when they were overclocked to 3.80Ghz. My R5 3600 "boosts" to 4.2Ghz at idle, but only just a hair below or above 4Ghz under all-core load (dependent on load).

They do have some new and slightly different boost behavior, check the threads in CPUs & Overclocking for the skinny. If you are using an older board, make sure that you flash to the newest 'Matisse'-compatible UEFI.

Here's a combo for $40 off, with an ASRock X470 ITX mobo (w/Wifi, I think). Not a bad deal at all, if you wanted to build a gaming ATX rig, with a Ryzen 3000-series CPU.

Also some combos with CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite RGB coolers, both the 120, 240, and 240 ARGB models. (Save like $10.)

I think that the promo-code discount in the OP is over, though, sadly.
