Yeah considering it is pretty much the Top gaming CPU for the AM4 chipset. It is a great price. Two things will happen in the future. The price will drip to $299.99 or the CPU will go out of stock and they wont make anymore.

MicroCenter has not responded pricewise yet, they usually undercut even these crazy prices within a week (well, within reason)... They are showing $420 on their site (although I've seen it as low as $380 I believe), and actually sold out at my local MC, maybe I'll grab this deal after all, seems REALLY good...

What will happen? AMD discontinue this X3D CPU, in deference to the 7600X/7700X? To push AM5 as "premium gaming", and relegate AM4 to "budget (gaming)".

Well the 5800X3d performs about the same or better than the 7700X for less money. AMD knows what they have and limiting the upgrade path will force you to get a new Mobo, CPU, and Memory lets say a year from now if they stop making the 5800X3D.

Who knows what AMD will do. Thats why I gave two options. They are no different than Nvidia and Newegg. Screw the customers and lie to appease the stock holders.

Ugh, so tempted. Trying to hold off for a new GPU first, but if this drops any more I may have to nab one.

I think everyone but Ant Online is sold out now.

saw this yesterday....and damn how I jumped on the 5700X...ah, no matter. 5800X3D is way more than what I need for this project. That $130 can be lovingly spent elsewhere! :D

Yeah, in terms of bang per buck, the 5700X is arguably the sweet spot. 8 cores to match consoles, but offers close to 80% or more of the performance as the 5800X3D in games at a much lower price. If you take that $130 and buy yourself a better GPU, you're less likely to be CPU bottlenecked as well, reducing the advantage of the X3D. I have no regrets buying the 5700X.

$329 again on Amazon. Out of stock, but you can still order it. With the long return window, I'm tempted to order now, then return if I can get a lower price Black Friday/cyber Monday.
