oh ! I forgot ... sry
I just have not seen one yet.
Maybe someone else has one saved ... thanks anyway !
Hopefully an MSI owner ... I'm going to search now

Well, well, well. It won't work now. It must be an AGESA 1.1.9.0/1.2.0.0 thing, because I remember definitely verifying fabric clock was 1900 last time I did this, but it was on AGESA 1.1.8.0.

Edit: and the proof is in the pudding. Now that it's doing 1/2 FCLK my memory latency at this setting is 76ns. Last time when I verified 1900FCLK it was 60ns.

New AGESA, new problems?

What ratios are being offered in your BIOS ?
Do they POST ?
Been trying to over-ride the 1/2 ratio
( like in my BIOS memory presets - attachment )
None of them POST.
( 4000 / 1800 = 2.22 ratio )
Tried to fool the BIOS to 4000 / 1900 using the presets.
Unsuccessful.

I can manually set DDR4000 at IF1900 and POST but
the 1/2 over-ride takes over ( IF 1000 - as usual )

I believe you'll need to stay in sync if you want to overcome the UCLK issue. Overcoming the WHEA warning/error is the biggest hurdle in the end at higher FCLK's.

End results very based on uEFI version implementation of the MB vendor and will very from model to model most likely.

My current beta MSI uEFI version won't even allow be to boot up at 3800/1900 which I find somewhat strange as it's never been a issue, well maybe this version and the one before.

This is the highest FCLK I've been able to achieve without triggering a whole lot of instant WHEA warning/error 19 so far. These clocks won't generate any during memory stress testing, but will eventually generate a few during heavy duty system stress testing such as Aida64's stability test.

3866_test.png

I usually play around with a new uEFI and get my share of errors, bsods, etc and then reload Windows....Todays the reload day for me.

I decided to give higher Try It clocks a whirl to see if it'll boot which it does, but a whole lot of instant WHEA warning/errors make it not worth pursuing in the end anyways. Proof of concept I guess....Maybe future potential with uEFI updates?

4000MHz_Test.png

4133Mhz_Test.png

Anything beyond the above would be pointless anyways so I stopped. I'm pretty sure I've booted the b-die kit to higher clocks, but that SSD with the saved files is in
my 5900x/6800xt rig currently.

Kenmitch , are you able to use a ratio other than 1/2 or 1:1 ?
Does your BIOS offer memory presets other than those ?
( like mine )
Just wondering why these are there, if they never work.

Viewing the few images you posted of your uEFI it looks the same as the one on my MSI MB.

Load memory presets with some crazy high voltages? Is that what your talking about.

I go for the latency vs bandwidth so I always keep mine in sync. I have been able to boot out of sync, but don't play around with it once I see the UCLK crazy low clocked.

The next time someone posts at something other than 1:1 or 1/2.
Please provide CPUZ ? thanks. I'm still looking. I've had 3 different chips in this MB. The BIOS never allowed anything other ... ( even my ASUS x470 )

Anyway, I think they should not be there.
Maybe code leftovers from another MB.
( there really is no " other ratio " Dorothy ... )

This 1.2.0.0 BIOS is a real POS on my Asus Prime X570 Pro. Since upgrading from 1.9.0.0 and reloading my exact same settings that were perfectly stable I now get WHEA correctable Error 19 by the thousands and occasional reboots. That's at only 3600 MHz IF clock. On the other hand I had never seen a correctable WHEA error before this BIOS so maybe the previous versions were just POS that didn't report them. Who knows. They haven't released a non-beta in months. Just going to to back to my 3200 MHz XMP profile and call it a day until things mature. Not like I have ever noticed a difference in real workloads.

edited: Actually ez-flash let me downgrade. Back to 3600 MHz and all good now. Avoid 1.2.0.0 on ASUS at least.

I already tried BETA BIOSes based on AGESA 1.1.0.0C, 1.1.8.0 and now running 1.2.0.0... All of them give WHEA 19 errors when trying to run 1900MHz and above FCLK. Only way to get rid of them with my CPU is to run 1867MHz FCLK

Same here, but my wall is 1900. If I try to run 1933 or higher I get errors spammed.

It seems like they didn't actually improve stability of any higher fclk frequencies, at least anecdotally for us.

I hope they're still working on it.

I was unable to get my 5900X to 1900FCLK either. I'm using two 16GB kits of budget $80 b-die (F4-3600C17D-16GTZ), currently running at 3600 16-16-16-34. Even with loose 18 timings it doesn't seem to want to go up to 3800 though, and I'm not sure where the issue is. I'll need to do some further testing without a 1:1 ratio to see if the issue to the IF or memory.

The current beta MSI uEFI on my 5600x x570 rig won't even boot up 3800/1900 at all. The 1900 FCLK looks to be a dead hole on the current uEFI for some reason or another. I'm using b-die which I've booted up to 4266MHz with success so it's not like the memory is the issue. I can boot my 5600x 1:1 beyond 1900 FCLK so it's not the cpu. The last uEFI would boot 1900 FCLK so I blame the uEFI implementation for the FCLK hole.

Interesting. When I have some time this weekend I might try really loosening things to CL20 or so and then try 4000. I have the same no boot issue at 3800/1900, it just doesn't boot and I need to clear CMOS to get it to recover.

The CTR guy says this about 1.2.0.0

" I see interesting information that AGESA 1.2.0.0 contains only "bug fixes". It does not. SMU 56.44.00 contains a number of improvements to the Curve + improvements for the dLDO injector. Also AGESA 1.2.0.0 has no problems with WHEA on FCLK 1900.
(This only applies to Zen 3) "

BTW ... I could not boot IF2000 without GDM Enabled.

If I set FCLK to 1800MHz and memory to 4000MHz it works fine even under stability tests (y-cruncher, memtest, prime95) and gaming... Even 4200MHz works with this Crucial 2x32GB kit. And that's a really good result for high density/dual rank memory. So it's not the memory or memory controller. The issue is really between the chiplets and the I/O Die.

I also tried with different memory (G.Skill 3200MHz 2x8GB CL14 B-Die) and no boot at 2000MHz 1:1:1, GDM enabled. I had some hope that single rank DIMMs would somehow make higher frequencies easier due to less load, but no. With the same single rank B-Die kit I was able to run 3800MHz 1:1:1 CL15 but with the same sporadic WHEA 19 errors under stability tests. Weirdly no WHEAs during gaming sessions though.

I ordered an Asrock (B550M Pro4) in advance also. It arrived with documentation that predated the 5000 series. It referred to the upcoming 4000 series. I was a little worried also. :p

When I *finally* got a 5800X, it worked fine. Well, fine enough to boot, run, and update the BIOS, anyway.

My B550 Extreme4 board came with BIOS version 1.1 and I was able to boot from that to upgrade to 1.8. I'm not sure if it would have continued to run on 1.1, but the upgrade to 1.8 was simple.

Maybe try it again when that bios is not a beta?

I run IF at 1900MHz stable on my 5900X + MSI X570 Unify with 4 DIMM's at 3820MHz (bus 100.5MHz).
Anything higher than that and I start getting memory errors.
New BIOS with Curve Optimizer helped squeeze another few % from ST and about 2% from MT on my rig. Very happy with it, even though my sample is probably below average as only two cores are boosting to above 5000MHz.

Strange... posted a message on prev. page (wrote it in a half an hour), mainly to your attention, but there it's been said waiting for approval :)

Can you offer me some suggestions for improvement?
I have a 5600x that seems stuck at all core 4.6ghz and at the edge of 4.9ghz single core.

info
M/b: msi x570 tomahawk
Pbo2: 200mhz+ offset currently. I’ve tried up to 400mhz+ but none of the numbers scale up.
co: -5, -10, -15. First & second cores, then the rest.
Cinebench23: 116450 MT

my temps stay at 73-75c during test. Single core test temp is like 56-57 max.

ppt usage is 112w out of 142w
CPU power: 89w - sometimes this will hit 90w and go red in ryzen master. Is that’s what throttling all core?
Tdc is 67 amps out of 100
Edc is is 112a out of 170a.

my core vids hovered around 1.313v to 1.331v throughout most of the test.

suggestions

It'd be more helpful, if you post a screenshot of HWInfo (6.40) sensor panel during cb mt and st run, and not use RM at all, preferably uninstall it, since the data you provide is hard to dissect (though if one discard most of your messed power numbers, what remains at first glance look like hitting power limit)

And dont forget to specify what cooling you have, and post ZenTimings screenshot as well. Also, make sure there's no vendor enforced stupid apps running in bg

Just for kicks, if you set PPT to 0 in BIOS, what happens?

Regardless, I would try more aggressive Curve Optimizer results. See this rundown. Less V required to hit same frequency, or higher frequency for same V. Try to push the non-"preferred" cores to -20, your second best to -15, and best to -10, and see what happens?

I'm still tinkering with my 5600X CO settings, but am hitting CB23 MT 12,100 range now, with all-core sticking around the 4.675-4.7 range.

One last hurrah for bios 3003 before i update to a bios with AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.0 and support for Nvidia smart access memory.
Cold air benching with EK custom waterloop+TechN Zen3 waterblock :)
Curve optimizer = -30 allcore
Stable in everything i throw at it, and no WHEA errors.

I may have to update my BIOS soon to latest, if it supports SAM for Nvidia on AGESA 1.2.0.0. I did not know this was a thing already. I wonder how much it could help with a 3090? Currently on 1.1.0.0.

Ok, so apparently SAM is not released in Geforce drivers yet, should be coming February. Still, going to update to BIOS v1D6 for my board, see how I can do with PBO2 on it, as well as memory tweaking.
