Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

Mine's out for delivery. I ordered ground shipping because I was afraid I would get unlucky again and see it sucked from my cart if I didn't pull the trigger quickly, lol. Fortunately, I live pretty close to Atlanta -- and UPS claims they will deliver it on a Saturday!

I hear ya. Ground was the only option it gave me. Still surprised how quickly it got here. Anyone wondering if ANT is legit, it is frfr

I'm at the point where I either a) just complete my custom water loop and stay with the 3900XT b) get one on eBay and just end the hunt. Have at least $800 of water cooling parts and time over the holiday break to finish the build and starting to think that over paying by $200-300 is worth more than wasting time trying to get a processor.

I had good luck getting a 5800x at Mirco Center, NY Area, the last 3 times I went in they had some.

MC for me is 40 minutes each way to both locations and one of them has been shut down twice for COVID. Already had one failed attempt and really not looking to make the trips over again.

I can understand. I went to a location the monday they reopened from a "deep cleaning" because their website showed a stock greater than 25. It was a 50 minutes drive each way, but I have nothing else to do on my days off.

It seems that the local retailers have been getting supplies during the last days, in stock periods lasting longer and longer, one retailer even has 5900X available now for a few hours already, this is the first time I saw such long availability since launch.

Seems the first slow boat shipments are making their way to distribution points.

Best Buy had stock of all the 5000 series CPUs and a ton of GPUs as well. I happened to miss the 5950X/5900X because their anti-bot feature temporarily blocked me (oh the irony). I had a discount code + rewards so at ~$399 net I went ahead and purchased a Ryzen 5800X. It will get replaced with a 5900X down the road.

Yeah more retailers are dropping a lot more computer parts now every day. GPUs are still in very high demand. AMD 3600, 5600Xs have been going in and out of stock daily as opposed to every few days. Keep checking Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Walmart and B&ah Photo Video if you’re still looking for parts.

Any word on the 5600 (non-X)? I have no interest in anything higher as I only game with my desktop, and the benchmarks at 1440p show zero benefit in spending more. I know the initial speculation was Jan. 2021, but no news since. I've noticed the 3600 is available from Newegg and Amazon now (not resellers), but they've of course jacked the price up by $50 - 100 CAD from where it was a year ago. Not interested for that price.
