Dammit, I helped my buddy build a system around an i5 8400 last week. *gnashing teeth*
Hey, it happens to the best of us. You'll learn. :)

Edit: On a more serious note, this is pretty hot. I paid $220 for my first Ryzen 5 1600. I liked it so much, I built a few more. Great CPU. Maybe not "the best" for 1080P Gaming, but ... close enough, and faster in so many other productivity applications than a 4C/4T Intel mainstream / gaming CPU, that it was worth it to me.

(It brought me out of the "CPU Ghetto", and showed me the light! No more Celerons!)

This is such a killer deal, maybe I should get one just for a back up cpu. You know, like a case of in case type situation.
Wonder how much further these will drop down in price when the 2xxx series launches.

Well, "New" ones, will probably go up in price to $400 ea. Seriously. The number of internet scalpers out there hoarding obsolete ("no longer being made") technology is staggering.

Right now is the best time to buy. Still being made, not being price-gouged, but rather, fire-saled, to make way for new products. I bought some RX 470 4GB cards that way for $150, when the RX 570 was imminent.

Yeah, this will likely be the cheapest it goes. But you never know for sure, because we have no idea how many units are sitting on retailer shelves right now. When AMD first launched Ryzen, the previous gen stuff became really cheap, but that was probably because of the rather large performance difference.
