AMD releasing a 6930?

I guess this is AMD getting rid of 6xxx series chips, by makeing some cheaper cards for them.

Doesnt seem so bad, getting ~6% slower than the 6950 only.

in games, yes...

...in the distributed computing world, the performance gap will be greater than 6% on average. probably the worst case scenario would be the Milkyway@Home project, which requires FP64 (double precision) calculations. the 6950 is capable of 563 GFLOPS when it comes to double precision, and the 6930 is only capable of 480 GFLOPS. that's a ~15% performance gap. granted, i know people around here only care about video game performance...but i thought i'd point this out just in case any crunchers stumble across this thread and get excited about this new card before doing his or her price-to-performance research.
