AMD has kicked off its Reality Check road show - XPP 02!

They're traveling to 20 cities across the U.S. to talk with PC enthusiasts and show off some of AMDs newest solutions. They'll be giving away 50 PIB in each city and there will be a Battle of the Boxes contest where two contestants will have a chance to show off their knowledge of technology, with the winner taking away $2,500. Details about the events and times and dates can be found at www.amdrealitycheck.com

Last years XPP events gave our members the chance to meet one another in person. If you're interested in meeting with other Anandtech Forum members in person at a particular event, please let one another know which event you'll be attending on this thread. An Anandtech banner will be hanging at each event to provide our members with a meeting place.

Great event last night and was nice to meet you Anand. Been reading your site since my CPE days at NCSU. That guy who won the cpu was a total ass who was totally immature and disrespectful. Definitely not someone who represents the community at all.

Anyway, Anand here is a shot I thought you might like:

Wow, that must be pretty neat to live in Anand's hometown.
Oh well I guess Scrap will have to do for now about debated hardware discussion.

Hey Anand it was great meeting you last night. I was gratified to discover that the guy on stage with you was from SC and not local...it was distressing to think that a NC guy was that big a jerk. You should have taken the CPU back! :)

Just got back from DC, one of the two guys fried the power supply, so the other guy got the easy money.
I didn't win any chip, but it was a great night, thx AMD!

o, check out some pictures I took, quality isn't that great, but hey...

I went to the DC one also.. when the dude fried the PSU that was awesome i just saw a blue flicker in the PSU and then smoke.. It didn't matter that he did that anyways because he would've lost to the other system because they ran System mark 2001. Anyways i got a free bag, hat, and shirt so i was pretty happy.

I went to this last year when they first came to S.F. They gave away 200 bundles and I walked away with a free XP+1800 and a Mobo and heatsink. I'll probably stop by the San Jose one and maybe I'll have the same luck.

if only they would come to Asia... AMD got a plant in Malaysia and currently building a 300mm wafer fab plant in Singapore(that's where i'm living) with UMC... Guess the US is a bigger market.
