Nice 248$ shipped for the 6870 and 187$ shipped gor the 6850.

Looking hard at the 6850. :)

The gtx460 1gb just took a nose dive to 169$AR too! holy crap!

The $180 6850 pretty well beat the GTX460, so Nvidia had to. It's nice to see some competition in the price range most of us actually buy at again.

A year ago I paid over $400 for this 5870, and while I like the card here we are getting pretty much the same performance for barely over half the price I paid.

Looking forward to the reviews, I'll stop clogging up this review thread with non-review talk now. :)

since Im cheap, and I have an 5770 already, these changes don't affect me. Just hoping 6000 series and price drop of 460 would pressure 5770 to drop further, I could possibly get a CF then.......

The Chinese website must be getting hammered, but it looks like tessellation is a lot faster on these parts. Also Far Cry 2 performance is much faster.

One thing I've noticed is that reviews have no overclocking in there reviews and if they do they overclock like crap. :( hmmmmm.

These cards seem to be OC limited at stock voltages.

Nevermind the Techpowerup review has some good overclocking.
Both over 1000 core with voltage, :)

But if you look at the ASUS Radeon HD 6850 Direct CU 1 GB review, http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/Radeon_HD_6850_Direct_Cu/31.html , it OCs 20% with no voltage tweak .

Maybe it is related to the boards?

Additionally if I'm reading in a correct way (might be reading wrong, it is late) these cards are still 4+1.

So eventually, its 6850 vs 460 1G; and 6870 vs 470. price are similar (+/-$10), performance are similar.

So what does AMD use to compete against 460 768MB (priced at $150@newegg)? 5770 is $125, 6850 is $180, there is quite a large gap there.

New here, but been lurking these boards for awhile now and have a question.

I currently have an Athlon II X2 at 2.7 ghz with a 4670. Do you think getting a 6850 would show an increase in performance, or do you think my CPU would bottleneck the GPU too much? $179 ia an awesome value!

Thank you
