I hate extra lights. I have a case with a window, which I received at no cost. I hope you can turn it off via some setting.

If I remember correctly users will be given some customization options. Like choose red or blue as color of these Leds

The LEDs themselves are literally a couple pennies. Even with all the interface and assembly the whole package is probably a quarter. Not much of a cost adder.

The problem with doing that is that it limits options. We don't know yet what the customization will be, but they could do some cool stuff with it even with just the red and blue LEDs.
