X2 5200+ $403 (new part)
X2 5000+ $301 (previously $696)
X2 4600+ $240 (previously $558)
X2 4200+ $187 (previously $365)
X2 3800+ $152 (previously $303)
3800+ $112 (previously $290)
3500+ $91 (previously $189)
This would make anyone who bought an AMD processor two weeks ago after the smaller price cuts rather sick, I'd imagine. But for now the question "who would buy AMD?" can clearly be answered by "anyone who wants a futureproofed dual core processor and motherboard for less than $200".
All I care about at the moment is a price war between Intel and AMD. Previously an AMD fanboy, I don't see the point in taking sides now seeing as the competition benefits us the most. Intel release a new architecture? Great, fine. AMD slash prices? Nice one.
And I'd like to see what the return volley from Intel will be. Hopefully they'll cut their prices, if only by a little bit.
