I'm not at liberty to say since my employer is not an Anandtech sponsor and to &quot;advertise&quot; on the message board would be in bad form, I will say that the price drop is OFFICIAL and that the channel distributors actually dropped the price last night. Therefore, any reseller that is supplied by the channel would have price protection and reflect the new price. 😉

Is there going to be another price cut on Monday? I just received this e-mail from the AMD Reseller Program today (Saturday)

1. Processor Price Drop effective December 11th 2000

In order to continue to offer our customers an excellent price/performance balance for processors, AMD is planning to announce a price move for some AMD processor products on December 11, 2000. Call your AMD authorized distributor for more details.

EDIT: I guess I'll wait till Monday to find out if this is a different price cut. The distributor I deal with is closed today.

Maybe they were thinking that they wouldn't HAVE the processors until Monday. I dunno. The next processor price drop is scheduled for the 14th.

I think they're just pulling no punches on the price war with Intel.
