the cpu is overheating (+90 degree C) when i play games(any game).i do not overclock and my cpu fan is also fine.
i hav installed an AMD HD7750 recently and due to this overheating all games lag after the cpu crosses the threshold mark of 77degree celsius.

*VERY IMPORTANT*-i use an asus EPU tool to switch b/t three modes (max power saving, max performance, automatic).
i noticed that in max performance mode Assassins Creed brotherhood is playable at 50+ fps for about 5 to 10 min without lag. after that the cpu temp reaches 98degree and the game starts lagging, also fps drops to 35-45 (this is with every game). BUT, in power saving mode AC was playable at 18 to 3O fps without lag [cpu temp remained <70 degree].
i hav also installed two cabinet fans along with the graphic card.

my system specs are-
umax 450w psu
cpu-amd phenom x2 555 @3.2gh
2gb ddr3 ram
asus M4A88T-M motherboard,win7 ultimate 32bit Add a reply Add to the list of quoted messages Quick edit Edit this message

Sounds like the heatsink needs a reseat. You might have accidently moved it abit while installing the card, so its not making a full contact.

Until recently I had the same CPU, overclocked to 3.7, all 4 cores unlocked, and the thing never got past 70C. As others have mentioned, something is wrong with the CPU/Cooler interface or the fan isn't spinning up as temps start climbing.

Remove cpu/cooler and clean them up (remove dust), reapply new thermal paste don't use too much though.
