Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this was a repost... but I saw this Shell Shocker deal on New Egg this morning 9/22/2010...

AMD Phenom II x4 965 Deneb 3.4GHz and a MSI 870A-54G mother board for $199.99 after rebate!

I currently have the same combo that I bought two weeks ago from Fry's when I got the AMD Phenom II 965 Deneb for $136 and MSI 870A-54G for $90 after rebate = $226... so this deal was better than what I got two weeks ago...:colbert: ... so far the build went well and everything is working fine and dandy!

My friend just ordered this for his new build and it seems like a great deal. I thought it was dead after the shell shocker ended but it looks like it's still alive.

BTW, how is that Corsair ram working out for you? We are looking for ram that works well with this board so I'm curious about your experiences.

The ram I bought is a Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 2GB x 4 = 8GB because the mother board supports 1600MHz (overclocking). The RAM is working great so far. Just be sure to look for one with a good reputation and have good reviews. The 1600MHz DDR3 ususally a few dollars more expensive than the 1333MHz ones.

I also installed Windows 7 64Bit...

Unless you are going to install a Windows 7 or Vista 64bit operating system you are not going to need more that 4GB of RAM... 32Bit OS only recognizes up to 4GB of ram...

Damn speak of the Devil... they have a 3 sticks on sale now for $129.99 after rebate... I bought mines for $89.99 for each pair after rebate so it came out to be about $190 for all 4 sticks...

But keep shopping around if you're not sure because there are always good deals out there... like this one at New Egg...
